Summer Vacation Program
Design Your Career with Deloitte
At Deloitte, we are seeking undergraduates who are interested in providing advice and consulting to clients across a number of different fields including taxation, corporate finance, strategy consulting, IT consulting, HR consulting, web design, business services, audit and actuarial services.
We have opportunities for students in our Summer Vacation and Deloitte Development Programs across Australia. These programs are designed to provide an insight into working at Deloitte and the opportunity to develop business skills and knowledge. We have opportunities for students studying accounting, commerce, business, economics, information systems, computer science/IT multimedia, actuarial studies, marketing and law.
Summer Vacation Program (Penultimate Year Students)
Application closing date: Friday, 22nd August
The Summer Vacation Program is available for students in their second last year of study and is designed to give you an excellent opportunity to experience our firm and its culture. It provides penultimate year students with 5-8 weeks paid work experience, significant client exposure, and the opportunity of gaining a graduate position.
As a vacationer with Deloitte you will enjoy:
- Five - eight weeks paid work experience over Dec 2008 - Feb 2009
- Significant client exposure and real work on current client issues
- Training, feedback and the opportunity of gaining a graduate position
- A strong support system including a buddy and counselling manager
- The opportunity to create a network within the firm and with other vacationers
Deloitte Development Program (1st & 2nd Year Students)
Application closing date: 5pm Monday, 8th September 2008
If you have two or more years left to complete your degree, this program is designed to provide you with professional development opportunities before your penultimate year of university.
The Deloitte Development Program consists of quarterly activities which provide you with the opportunity to:
- Discover what makes a great leader in the business world
- Learn how to perform at your peak in a corporate environment
- Learn vital presentation skills
- Understand the dynamics of a professional services firm
- Visualise the career paths available to you at Deloitte

Your life as an Ernst & Young Vacationer
Our Vacationer program is a great way to dip your toe into the working world during your summer university holidays. You could spend between two weeks and three months working across several different parts of our business.
From day one as a Vacationer you'll work in a real job with real clients, handling work similar to that of one of our first-year graduates. You'll have a 'buddy' and a counsellor, and receive training on our systems. Many Vacationers are offered full-time positions with us when they've finished their studies.
With your own responsibilities on client engagements, you'll be able to put into practice what you've been studying at university. You can head back to your studies confident that your career's already begun.
Sydney Vacationer Program
Our summer vacationer program will start on Monday 8 December 2008 and will conclude on Friday 13 February 2009 (with a two week break over the Christmas/New Year period).
Applicants who select the business unit preference Tax, Corporate & International Tax will have the opportunity to rotate within the Tax business units (with the exception of Human Capital). Refer to the website for more information www.ey.com/au/careers.
